BB, John, Marie and I go caching in Stow

BB, John, Marie, and I went geocaching in Stow trying to find "Walk in the woods."   BB has a new pair of walking sticks courtesy of Marie that she was anxious to try.

The site is nearby so it was only a short drive to good winter parking just off of Bradley Lane.  There's a baseball field here with lots of plowed winter parking.

It was a bit cloudy and in the low to mid 30s.  This made the trails somewhat slick.

We walked in on the west side of Gardner Hill and got to GZ fairly quickly.  Unfortunately with 8" of icy snow cover we were unable to locate the cache despite 30 min of digging in likely places.  Interestingly, there were recent snowmobile tracks near the cache.

On the way back Marie lost her glasses, so we had to backtrack to retrieve them.  After a bit of discussion we decided to walk around Gardner Hill so we took the blue trail east around the hill.

Along the way we got some good views of the Assabet river and a number of kettle holes.  This is a nice area and we'll return later when conditions are a bit better to revisit the cache.

Here are the photos.  No spoilers.  As usual click through to see larger images.

Sorry you didn't find it, but the pictures are great! It is probably nearly impossible to uncover with the snow on the ground. Come back after the thaw!
