There is a wooden bike design available on the internet. The bike is a bit chunky but the plans do have workable dimensions that should make things easier. The seller sent a PDF straight away and I've spent some time studying his approach.
Meanwhile I've done some work on the concept and begun getting a good set of dimensions.
