Rome Lab's supercomputer is made up of 1,700 off-the-shelf PlayStation 3 gaming consoles | syracuse.com Sometimes technology is remarkable at several levels. Many years ago I worked at the labs in Rome. This is interesting and amusing at the same time.

About Me

My photo
Puff
Richard Bell (screen name Puff) isn't quite as old as dirt but is getting there. Work is mostly about IT, business (especially banking), science, and engineering. Play is anything to do with flying or water. The first computer I worked on was an IBM 1648 (no words just characters, no arithmetic just table lookup). While I didn't work on the first computer I've not missed much since. I don't go to the computer museum for the, not entirely unreasonable fear, that I might be captured and put on display. When I'm not working you'll find me flying or doing something on or under the water. More recently playing with an ebike.
